At the Hub

I'm not that strange. Really. I'm at the Hub, working, I'm the boss... sometimes I wonder. Who's in charge really. Why we're here? To keep track of aliens and take the stuff they leave behind. Well, maybe that's a little strange. Who else does what we do? Good thing I've got help. From Owen, Tosh and Ianto. My team.

Hope

What an eventful few weeks it has been... For one, @DrOwenHarper and I met up with some Weevils and were both injured, he invited me to stay at his and @SatoToshiko's flat while we recovered, and things progressed from there. We spent a lot of time together during that time, and I think we understand each other better now. When we got back to the Hub, we got back into contact with @captainjohnhart and @Wyte_, who resolved to investigate the disappearances of @thefaceofboe and Agent @_Blaq, as well as allowing me to get Owen his job at Torchwood back. We will keep looking for @_Rhys__ too. I have accepted my role as the leader of Torchwood until Jack or Blaq return.

Just today, we had several visitors to Cardiff. @__TARDIS__ arrived on the Rift to refuel, travelling with @Greyson_Rose, and I met them along with @Celestial_Fire_ near the Bay. While we were there, @JudoonCaptain landed elsewhere in the city, Victoria Park, looking for @_Alberich_ on behalf of the Shadow Proclamation. Another mysterious disappearance, something that happens all too often these days.

Doctor and TARDIS

I was at the Hub one day, the 5th of November as it happened, when I got a message from @__TARDIS__. She needed my help with something by the docks. We had communicated before, and as @__TARDIS__ had contact before with @Lady__Christina and @PeterGuppy, who I had worked with, she knew I could help. @__TARDIS__ had been working with @TheLordOfTime, @Greyson_Rose, and @I_Cleopatra to fight @_TheWire_, who had captured the Doctor and other people to drain their energy. As I got there, the Doctor had defeated the Wire and released her prisoners. The Doctor soon left with his companions. @TheLordOfTime told me before he left, 'You're a life saver, @Gwen_Cooper. Those victims' lives are in capable hands. Stay safe- well, as safe as Torchwood can be'. I'm glad that Torchwood can have a good relationship with the Doctor since Jack took over the organisation. The patients required care and rehabilitation, so I called @Grace_Holloway who took them to hospital.

After I got back to the Hub, @captainjohnhart and @Wyte_ contacted us. It was good to hear from them again, though their former partners @thefaceofboe and @_Blaq were still missing, along with @_Rhys__. I was later visited by @PeterGuppy from Torchwood Two, who was looking for his team member Fiona.

While @DrOwenHarper, @SatoToshiko, @Ianto_Jones and I continue the search for Rhys and Juro, it was necessary to send @IantosSpirit away due to concerns over his contact with the Rift. I provided him with transport and identification so he could leave the city, joined by @captain_flyboy. Meanwhile, I keep watch over the Hub.

Lost & Found

Since that last entry, Lilly has been found. She fell through the Rift again, right back in Cardiff. When she returned to the Hub, she brought her brother James Stokes with her. He was also returned by the Rift, having worked with a parallel version of Torchwood before. Meanwhile Owen and I appear to have come to an understanding. We need to find Rhys, and Juro.

I've still been in contact with Ianto (IantosSpirit), though he left our Torchwood after a dispute with Owen. Our Ianto (Ianto_Jones) has also been back, as has Tosh. They all mean a lot to me. But I guess it wouldn't be fair to have two Iantos at one Torchwood... Well. Best of luck to Ianto and Jack.

I'll be looking for Rhys.

There has been a link to the Rift and we have a possible way of getting them back, in addition to others who have gone missing recently. John has informed me that he may be able to locate Jack again as well. We could sure use his help.

The moonlight of my life

Lots going on at Torchwood as usual. We had a run-in with the leader of the Sycorax before, who came through the Rift and was housed in the cells at Torchwood for a time. Now the Arcateenian visitor Alberich has been around, though he assures me he hasn't been endangering anyone to stay here. Selina has been assisting me with finding out more about him. We have also been seeing Martha Jones, Leo Jones and Kara Jones as well as Ianto Jones. Leo is Martha's brother, while Kara is Ianto's adopted sister. Meanwhile, Jack from the parallel universe tells me that he and Ianto are together now. Still no sign of my Rhys or Jack.

Torchwood: The Divergent Universe

In case you are wondering about who is in which universe, I have written a guide to our Torchwood universe and how it differs from the canonverse. There is also my list of all the Doctor Who and Torchwood characters on Twitter. And yes, Owen and Tosh were a couple after they came to our universe on Twitter. But not anymore, Owen's with Lilly now. In other news, still transcribing awesome Twitter conversations from the past few months. <3 you guys. :) And now back to your regularly scheduled RP.

Rescued

I've been spending some time with Ianto lately. No, not the Ianto from this universe, but from another Torchwood. He showed up one day when I was sat by the cells, first as a ghost, then seemed to arrive here completely when I hugged him. When we talked I felt better than I had for a long time. He showed me that I was worth saving. And after I brought him back to life, I finally did something worthwhile. He helped me more than I thought possible.

Visitors

There have been several new visitors at Torchwood and some people returning as well. The Shadow Proclamation has shown some interest in our activities. One of their agents, Andromeda Knight, has been in Cardiff a while. We once met with Greyson Rose together outside the Hub. Later on, a Judoon Captain visited Andromeda, landing his ship in Victoria Park. I was worried at first that he would want to come to Torchwood, but Andromeda just had a meeting with him there and he soon departed. Meanwhile, Lilly has been staying in Cardiff. While she was at the Hub, Peter Guppy came from Torchwood Two in Scotland to ask Owen about the treatment he developed to reverse Retcon. The treatment was administered successfully.

Andy's first arrival at Torchwood

The transcript from Twitter of Andy's initial appearance at the Hub. These events occurred on 1-2 April. Also the entrance of Tosh after her absence from Torchwood.

Revelations

Of course, the Master didn't stay away for long. He was soon back at Torchwood to find Lilly, who'd come here for refuge. He landed his TARDIS in the Hub, shielded from our weapons, and demanded Lilly return to him or he would create a black hole the size of Wales. Tosh tried to break through the shields but they were too strong. After we discussed his plans, Lilly decided the only way the Master would stop was if she went with him.

However, on Sunday Lilly was back at Torchwood wanting to help us defeat the Master. This time she modified the Hub's shields so he couldn't get in, but briefly lifted them so our allies the Doctor and Dalek Caan could arrive. Master didn't infiltrate the Hub and Lilly resisted him. She was put in the cells for a bit, until the Doctor decided to take her into his TARDIS. I agreed to this plan, since he could take care of her and watch out for the Master. I really hope this works out.

Never Far Gone

There's been quite a lot happening recently what with the Dauwyn parasites making an appearance and the Master arriving in Cardiff. We had previously thought Andy was affected by the Dauwyn, when it was actually Gray's influence on him. Owen was able to find a treatment for those who had the Dauwyn in their system, which we administered.

Meanwhile, the Master and his companion Lilly were located in the city. Ianto and I paid them a visit when they were out with Owen. Well, they couldn't expect us not to notice a TARDIS landing in town. They teleported out after our meeting. Later on, Lilly took Owen and I on a tour of her TARDIS, Csheiko. She was very nice- an extraordinary ship. Later on... well, John came to visit me at the Hub. We'd been in contact occasionally, and... I guess I needed someone with Rhys away. He didn't stay long but I'm glad he was here. And though Jack is still away, I found I worked well with Blaq when we encountered some weevils.

Status Report

We've mostly gotten back up and running at work, Allie has been around and I've stayed in contact with Grace. I've been monitoring Debbie Starr and Bill Curtis in Cardiff- they seem particularly interested in Torchwood. I try to keep an eye on all time and space travellers and other paranormal activity, and Twitter appears to be a good place to do that. There's certainly a lot of timelines to keep track of! I met The Doctor and Lady Christina in Cardiff earlier, but now they've gone off travelling together in the TARDIS (Dalek Caan is also out there somewhere). I couldn't leave Torchwood; we've got a lot to look into at the Hub. I haven't forgotten Andy either. He hasn't been in contact, though. All I can do is wait for him.

Return to Life

Okay.  Things are looking up now.  We were finally allowed to leave the hospital and I reconnected with Rhys at home.  Andy is still there, however, and I want to help him.  I find myself reading his letters and conversations with me, just to have some contact with the way he was before.  Now- he doesn't even respond to me.  This is what Gray did to him- to all of us.  At least we're out of those cells.  Grace is working at a local hospital with some of the victims.  We'll have other help when we get back to work.  And that's fine with me.

Recovery

The team is safe now and being taken care of.  Now we need to convince the city that we weren't responsible for the incident.  Our new hosts should be able to help with that.  I trust them to look out for us.

Location Update

I got home in the TARDIS with the Doctor and Allie, with the help of the Fourth Doctor.  I was reunited with Rhys, Jack and Ianto at Torchwood.  We've got some new visitors there, Tosh and Owen from another universe and my friend PC Andy Davidson.  Unfortunately, Andy is afflicted with a mysterious malady which we are trying to cure.  Recent events have not left much time for blogging, and many of those are classified.

Time Travel

(a continuation of New Journey (1) and Arrival (2))

After we couldn't find the Doctor (@_theta_sigma), Allie (@AllieHarkness) and I looked around the planet, observing that the people there were blue with antennae, but there were some humans there as well.  The Eighth Doctor (@with_two_hearts) advised us on the location of the TARDIS key, so we could re-enter the ship.  Consulting the TARDIS computers, we figured out that we were on Andoria in 2154.  This was the same universe and timeline as @Jean_Pierce, a counsellor on the Enterprise in the future.  I went to question the Andorian guards, but they wouldn't tell me about the Doctor's whereabouts.  The next day, we found the Doctor again and tried to question some of the Andorians.  He told us to wait while he investigated further.  He was lost again.

After waiting the night in the TARDIS, I decided I was going in to get the Doctor after picking up a signal from his sonic screwdriver.

Nathan advised me to take the Doctor to the Zero Room in the TARDIS, which optimises recovery for Time Lords.

At least at Torchwood, things are back to normal. In the TARDIS, we established contact with the Doctor again. He had been transported to another planet by a device which had been set by the Master on the ship. The Doctor managed to find his way back. I returned to Torchwood with Allie and Jack while the Doctor continued his travels in the TARDIS.

Arrival

I was called in for questioning on the alien ship, but they didn't speak much English, so we didn't get very far. I was sent back to the hotel room.

Torchwood One didn't think they could just take out one of the Sycorax ships without word getting back to their planet, did they?

@_theta_sigma Do you see any Sycorax ships around Earth, because I'm on one of them at the moment. Don't think they like Torchwood too much.

In sort of a hotel room on the ship. Will stay here for a while.

@_theta_sigma It must be sort of a spy vessel, checking up on Earth.

I sent out a message to Jack and the Doctor to see if they knew anything about the aliens. @_theta_sigma responded and picked me up from the ship. We went back to Torchwood to get @AllieHarkness, then the Doctor offered to take us on a trip. Using the Randomiser, we landed on a snowy planet. We left the TARDIS to look around, but soon @_theta_sigma had disappeared.

The Return

Good news! Jack is better, I've told him what's been happening, and we're still in the TARDIS. I found something interesting in the ship yesterday:

Found an ebook in the TARDIS library- it has the words "Don't Panic" on the cover. Good advice.

Inside the Spaceship

I began to realise the Master's mind control over me whilst in the bar with @captainjohnhart. It was the voices in my head I was talking to and not John when I referred to 'My Lord and Master' that night. I envisioned TARDIS' coloured red and blue, and maple syrup, for some reason. The next day, I could think clearly again.

Then, we had a parallel version of me to deal with, and then Jack's illness as a result of contact with some toxic tree sap on an alien planet. He was simply unconscious and anti-toxins from the Torchwood and UNIT medical supplies didn't work. On board the TARDIS, @DoctorJohnSmith administered the antidote from analysing samples from the alien planet and Jack's medical records. @TimeLadyJenny and I explored the TARDIS, finding a jungle and several companions' rooms. While in Ace's room, we made contact with @acemcshane via Twitter from a long time ago, but simultaneously. The Doctor helped free her from her room by talking to the past version of the TARDIS. Now I'm in the TARDIS while the Doctor figures out what @Tremas could have done to her, while we were helping Jack.

Reflection

The Master may have influenced my mind for a while before. But when Jack was in danger, I chose Jack. I didn't allow my friends to be captured by the Master, warning them that we had to get out of UNIT before he arrived. Now the Doctor, Jenny, Allie and I are in the TARDIS, hopefully getting Jack some help from the Doctor, if he's figured out what caused Jack's illness.

New Journey

I like to keep an open mind about people. Whether they are the Doctor, the Master, Captain John Hart, getting to know them is important. So when @captainjohnhart contacted me about coming over to Torchwood, I agreed. My next adventure took me further than I ever thought possible.


@captainjohnhart came over, and I made contact with the current incarnation of the Doctor, @_theta_sigma. I also met @AllieHarkness, Captain Jack's daughter from the future. @thefaceofboe (Captain Jack) and @jonesianto were there too.

The next day, I was entering new alien tech into the Torchwood computer when I heard a knock at the door and thought, 'I'd better see who it is'. It was someone in a cloak who said he wanted to see Torchwood. I told him, 'Well, you've come to the right place'.
Oi, where are you taking me? Some kind of transporter?
all right, a bit rocky, this place- a cave perhaps?
Who are you, anyway? Oh, right then- Sycorax.
This must be the same ship I saw back in London, sort of a scout vehicle.
Then I heard them coming back for me.

Time Bus

The first visitor to Torchwood that I connected with via Twitter, @iriswildthyme, I met in the cells on 3 February.  A renegade Time Lady, Iris had a run-in with Captain Jack and Ianto, after arriving in Cardiff in her TARDIS which appears as a red double-decker London bus.  I later released her from the cells in order to track down a temporal anomaly.  After scanning the area around Cardiff Bay, we discovered that the signal was coming from the Hub itself.  Iris was able to close the loop that was causing the anomaly, after which we went for pizza and dancing in the clubs.  Fantastic! 

Joining Twitter

I first posted on Twitter on 23 January; the first post recorded that I was "Being chased by aliens at the moment- better call the Torchwood team.", I soon connected with Martha Jones, Captain Jack Harkness and Ianto Jones there.  I also found the First, Fourth and Eighth Doctors.  

The next week, Rhys took me to London, where I said 'Visiting the London shops and Madame Tussaud's. I keep wondering if the mannequins and statues are about to come to life and chase us.'  Later, 'Rhys and I followed a Sycorax from the London Eye to his scoutship, when we saw him take off into space.'

Welcome!

Since I've been working at Torchwood, my life has changed in so many ways.  With Captain Jack Harkness and Ianto Jones, I discover new things about the universe every day.  Since joining Twitter, I have met the Doctor and his associates and other new friends.  This blog is a journal of some of those experiences on Twitter and other events from my life.
